These easy-to-grow plants are highly adaptable to various climates and produce vigorous vines that yield masses of gorgeous red cherry tomatoes on long trusses. Sweet Million, a winner of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit, matures early and delivers incredible yields of deliciously sweet tomatoes all season long. Growing Information:

Season: Warm season crop.
Exposure: Full sun for optimal growth.
Timing: Start indoors in early spring with bottom heat. Transplant outdoors once nighttime temperatures are consistently above 7°C (45°F).
Germination: Optimal soil temperature is 25-35°C (68-95°F). Seeds sprout in 7-14 days.
Sowing Instructions: Sow seeds 5mm-1cm (¼-½”) deep. Keep seedlings under bright light to prevent legginess.

Care Tips:

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Mix finished compost and manure into the soil, and add 1 cup of balanced organic fertilizer beneath each transplant.
Support: Vine varieties require support such as a wire or trellis. Regular pruning may be necessary in smaller areas.
Watering: Regular watering is vital, but avoid letting the plants sit in water. Stop watering around the end of July to encourage fruit ripening.
Transplanting: Space indeterminate transplants 50-75cm (20-30") apart in rows 1m (3') apart.

Harvesting:

Timing: Harvest when the fruit is the desired color. Green tomatoes can ripen indoors at cool temperatures if they are blemish-free.
Method: Pick fruits regularly to encourage continued production.

Pest & Disease Management:

Blossom End Rot: Prevent by ensuring even watering and adding calcium to the soil.
Late Blight: Use drip tape for watering and avoid splashing the leaves. Apply Bordo Copper Spray regularly in late summer.
Flea Beetles: Protect young plants with Floating Row Cover.

Companion Planting:

Best Companions: Asparagus, basil, beans, borage, carrots, celery, chives, collards, cucumber, garlic, lettuce, marigold, mint, nasturtium, onion, parsley, and peppers.
Avoid: Brassicas, dill, corn, and potatoes to prevent pest and disease spread.
