Monarda fistulosa. Commonly known as Bee Balm, Wild Bergamot is a striking wildflower that blooms in shades ranging from pink to lavender. These vibrant flowers appear in July and August on stout, strong stems with aromatic leaves. Wild Bergamot, unrelated to the bergamot citrus fruit used in Earl Grey tea, offers leaves perfect for making tea with peppery, lemony, and minty notes. Growing to a height of 60-90cm (24-36"), these plants are highly attractive to beneficial pollinators like butterflies and wild bees, and hummingbirds often defend their territory over these beautiful blooms.

Watering: Avoid overhead watering to prevent mildew. Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming.
Dividing: These perennials spread by rhizome growth and should be dug and divided every three years.
