Introducing the White Stemmed Pac Choi from West Coast Seeds, a 1g pack of Brassica oleraceae var. chinensis seeds. This petite green grows to a height of 15-20cm (6-8") and features vivid white, succulent petioles and dark green, nearly round leaves. With a mild, sweet flavor, White Stemmed Pac Choi is perfect for salads, stir-fries, and noodle dishes. It can be grown from early spring to late fall, forming tight, urn-shaped heads with broad leaves.

Growing Instructions:

Difficulty: Easy
Timing: Direct sow with frost protection in late winter or without protection from four weeks before the last frost date to eight weeks after. Sow again in late summer.
Starting: Sow 3-4 seeds 5mm-1cm (¼-½”) deep. Thin to the strongest plant with 15-20cm (6-6") spacing between plants and 30-45cm (12-18") between rows.
Days to Maturity: 50 days from direct sowing.
Growing Conditions: Ideal pH of 6.0-6.8. Use 1 cup of complete organic fertilizer for 3m (10’) of row. Keep plants well-watered and watch for signs of bolting.

Harvesting:

Use a sharp knife to cut the plants at ground level when ready. Plant several short rows every couple of weeks for a continuous harvest. This variety will not regrow once cut.

Disease & Pest Management:

Pests: Protect from slugs, woodlice, flea beetles, and cabbage moths with lightweight row covers.
Preventive Measures: Keep the garden free from debris and excess water to deter pests.
